Advice from the Office of Information Commissioner (formerly Data Protection Registrar) is that Family Historians are currently exempt from the provisions of the various Data Protection Acts.
All the data on this site is from generally available public sources, or from individuals who have authorised publication of the data they have provided.
However as many banks and other financial institutions still insist on using "mother maiden name" as a security check, in the interests of privacy and security I have decided against listing Birth references after 1930, Marriage references after 1940, and biographical details of living persons on this site.
I presume all those born after 1930 to be living unless there is a record of their death.
If you require a reference after 1930 for Births or 1940 for Marriages you may contact me.
